
John Jack Conway
LINCOLN -- John E. "Jack" Conway of LaBrecque Street, 83, died April 2, 2010 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, with his family at his side.
He was born on Feb 18, 1927 in North Walpole, the son of Simon J. and Regina A. (LaPierre) Conway.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a foreman at the Franconia Paper Mill in Lincoln until its closing and then he attended the Ohio Meat Cutting School and became a butcher. He retired as head custodian from the Lin-Wood School system.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln and a member of Lincoln American Legion Post 83.
Mr. Conway enjoyed skiing, hunting and fishing, snow-shoeing, hiking and miniature golf.
He was an avid Red Sox fan.
Most important was the time he spent with his family.
The family includes his wife of 62 years, Mrs Lois F. (Trudell) Conway; two daughters, Bonnie Mason of Chocorua and Brenda Conway of Lincoln; two grandaughters; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Gleason of Athol, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.
SERVICES: A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St., North Woodstock. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. John MacKenzie officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.
