Mary Elizabeth Mexcur

Committal Service for Mary will be on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Quincy Road, Rumney. relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mexcur, 61, of Gilford Ave., Rumney,NH, died, Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at Hospice House in Concord. She lived 20 years in Concord before relocating to Rumney in June 2005.

Mary was born in Portland, Maine on October 23, 1947, the daughter of the late Edward Scott and Dorothy (Pierce) White of Nova Scotia, Canada who survives her. She was a graduate of Gorham High School in Gorham, Maine. Mary earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Keene State College in Keene, NH. For the past 15 years Mary was Co- founder and associate director of New Hope Christian Services of Rumney. Mary facilitated hundreds of adoptions of orphaned children from Eastern Europe and Russia. She attended the Danbury Christian Church in Danbury. She enjoyed Bible study as made evident by her worn Bible. Mary also enjoyed international travel, cooking and spending time with her family.

Besides her mother, family members include her husband of 41 years David Mexcur of Rumney, two daughters; Elizabeth Mexcur of Concord and Hannah Mexcur of Rumney, four sons; Mark Mexcur of Elkhart, IN, Jonathan Mexcur and Philip Mexcur both of Concord, Timothy Mexcur of Union Michigan, two sisters; Leigh Stetson of Hopkinton and Beverly Baizley of Maine, two brothers Dick Stetson and Lloyd Stetson both of Maine, a grandson Devon, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A calling hour will be on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 at the Rumney Baptist Church, Main St. Rumney followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Craig Merritt officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Rumney at a time to be announced in the spring.
