Priscilla M. Strickland of Pollard Road passed away Wednesday evening (September 30, 2009) at Grafton County Nursing Home in Haverhill, NH. She was 79.
Born on March 19, 1930 in Lincoln, NH, she was the daughter of the Carl Gahagan and Winifred (Gahagan) Brooks.
Priscilla was a lifelong Lincoln resident and graduated from Lincoln High School.
She was a longstanding member of the Lincoln American Legion Post 83 Auxiliary and volunteered at Lin-Wood Elementary and High School.
Priscilla was a homemaker and cared for many local children who considered her a second mother.
Her beloved husband George E. Strickland died Nov 21, 2003. Two brothers: Harold Brook and James Brook, and a sister Patricia Gahagan all pre-deceased her.
She leaves two daughters Debra A. Ward and her husband SGM Allan T. Ward

Three grandsons: Michael A. Ward of Pennsylvania, Grant E. Clark and Liam M. Clark both of Lincoln, NH
Two great-grandchildren: Rachel Ward and Aidan Ward

Michaela Huntoon of Connecticut

Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, Oct 6 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St., North Woodstock, NH. Rev John MacKenzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln.
