Committal Service for Donald Bain, 79 of Highland St., Plymouth. Who died January 5, 2009 will be on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Quincy Road, Rumney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.







PLYMOUTH;

Mr. Donald W. Bain, 79, of Highland Street, died, Monday, January 5th, 2009 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. Donald was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on April 27, 1929, the son of the late Alexander and Lois (Allen) Bain. Mr. Bain was raised by his mother and Charles W. Madden. He attended Brookline schools. He worked for the Highway dept in Marshfield, MA. He also worked many years as a part time Police officer for the Rumney Police Dept. and also was a member of the Rumney Volunteer Fire Department, most recently he worked many years for the Plymouth State College maintenance dept. as a boiler room fireman. Mr. Bain served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wentworth - Warren VFW and the Conway American Legion Post 46, Mr. Bain enjoyed maintaining his yard as well as spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris (Lever) Bain who died in October 2003.
Family members include two daughters; Sandra L Dickinson of Campton, and Nancy L Ayotte of Wentworth, three sons; Thomas Staples, Sr. of North Sandwich., Raymond Staples, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL., and Robert Bain of Campton, a brother; William Bain of Bloomfield, CT, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, , several nieces, nephews and cousins
Calling hours will be on Saturday January 10, 2008 from 3-6 PM at the Edmund Fournier Funeral Home 144 Main Street, North Woodstock.
A graveside service with military honors will be at Highland Cemetery, Rumney at a time to be announced in the spring.
