Dolores M. Inkell

CAMPTON;

Dolores “Del” M. (Bouchard) Inkell, 94, of Campton died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was born in La Petrie, Quebec, Canada on January 27, 1915, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Bouchard. Del and her family came to the United States in 1919 and settled in Stowe, Vermont. As a young woman Del settled in Campton and worked at Beebe River Mill and the Jack O’Lantern Resort. When her son Ron graduated from Plymouth High School in 1962, Del went to work for Monsignor Boner of the Catholic Church, living in Concord and Plaistow. She graduated from Shirley’s School of Cosmetology in Manchester in 1969 and worked as a beautician in Manchester and then at Cora’s Beauty Salon in Concord. Del retired back to her home in Campton in 1985.
During her retirement Del remained very active through her involvement with the Campton Historical Society, the Plymouth Regional Senior Center, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. It was always her nature to help and care for others so she also volunteered for hospice. Del loved to travel and entertain guests; she was well versed in dozens of card games, and could whip up a fabulous Irish coffee or crème de menthe pie. She was a hearty New England lady who maintained her gardens and mowed her own yard well into her eighties. She took great joy in children, doting on her twin granddaughters and easily winning the hearts of her four young great-grandchildren.
Del is survived by her son, Ron Inkell of Reno, NV, two granddaughters, Amy Pflaum of Charlottesville, VA, and Kerry Trietley of Castle Rock, CO, one great-grandson, Doran, and three great-granddaughters, Molly, Libby, and Rowan Del.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9th, at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Matthew’s Church, 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH, followed by a burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Thornton. A lunch reception will be held at noon at the Country Cow Restaurant, 57 Blair Road, Campton.
