Kenneth H. Welch

Mr. Kenneth H. Welch, 78, of Lost River Road, died Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 at Speare Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, NH.

Mr. Welch was born in Woodsville, New Hampshire on August 18, 1930, the son of the late Freeman and Effie (Greene) Welch. He attended Bath and Woodsville Schools. Mr. Welch lived most of his life in the Woodstock Area. For several years he spent his winters in Florida.

Mr. Welch owned and operated Ken's Gulf Station In Woodstock for many years and sold snowmobiles.

He served the Town of Woodstock as a Police Officer and Fireman. He was a life member of the Woodstock Fire Department. He also worked for the Woodstock Public Works Dept. and the Incinerator. Most recently he worked for Lost River Valley Campground. He was a life time member of the Parker Masonic Lodge# 97of Woodstock. Mr. Welch enjoyed his Camp at Elbow Pond, bird watching, card games, car racing and spending time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Jones) Welch who died in 2006.

Family members include three sons, Steve Welch and Michael Welch both of North Woodstock and Ronald Welch of Franklin. NC, four sisters, Madeline Estes of East Hartford, CT, Hazel Carr and Shirley Fadden both of North Haverhill, NH, and Ruth Boemig of Stark, FL, four brothers, Allen Welch of Enfield, Ct., Bernard Welch of East Hampton, CT, Max Welch of East Hartford, CT, and Arthur Welch of Garden Grove, CA.

9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins

Calling Hours will be on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Edmund Fournier Funeral Home 144 Main St. North Woodstock.

Graveside Service will be at Woodstock Cemetery at a time to be announced in the spring.
