
E. Pearl Boyce
E. Pearl (Knapp) Boyce, 83, of 36 Pine Gate Road, Plymouth died Friday, July 24, 2009 at the St Francis Rehab and Nursing Center, Laconia.
She was born in Norton, Kansas on September 4, 1925 to Hiram S. Knapp and Maggie C. (Alyea) Knapp. She moved to New Hampshire at age 5 and grew up in Laconia.
Pearl moved to Thornton in 1949 where she lived for many years before moving to Plymouth in December 2007. She worked at many different jobs in the area including: Dole Woolen Mills, White Mountain Industries, The Jack O’Lantern Resort, The Valley Gateway and The Tecumseh Inn.
She loved to draw and enjoyed collecting dolls and Betty Boop items. She also enjoyed camping with her family especially in Maine.
Pearl was a former avid CB enthusiast.
She is the widow of Lyman G. “Junior” Boyce, who died December 14, 2007 following 57 years of marriage.
She was also predeceased by a daughter, Jean Sylvester, who died in 2006, 4 brothers, Jack Knapp, Robert Knapp, Kenneth Flanders and Wilson Flanders, and a sister, Mable Libby.
Family members include 2 sisters Penny Martel and Barbara Kimball both of Laconia, four daughters; Judy Gunther of Colorado, Carolyn Adams of Plymouth, Mary Boisvert of Laconia and Crickett White of Bristol four sons: George Boyce and Todd Boyce both of Plymouth, Robert “Butch” Boyce of Thornton, Edward “Beaver” Boyce of Jacksonville, Florida, 20 grandchildren, 21 Great grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at the Edmund Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Thornton United Methodist Church, Thornton with Rev. Skip Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Thornton.
Carlton C. Ham is the funeral director.
