June T. Barry

June Theresa (Anderson) Barry of Sargent Street died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Litttleon Regional Hospital following a couregous battle with cancer. She was 62.
Born on Feb 18, 1947 in Lynn, Mass, she was the daughter of Gerald J.and Catherine (Kay) Anderson.
Moving to N.H. in 1976 from Georgetown, Mass. On Dec 4, 1976, she married Daniel Barry. Together with their eight children they operated Maple Haven Camping & Cottages (formerly Sawyer’s Cabins) in North Woodstock, N.H. for more than 30 years.
A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Lincoln, NH, June served as church secretary, director of religious education, was a member of the choir and played the organ. Additionally, Mrs. Barry was responsible for overseeing the meals program for the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council for Lincoln and Woodstock.
June received her M. Ed at Plymouth State College in Plymouth, N.H. She devoted 10 years to the Lincoln -Woodstock Cooperative School District in conjunction with Piermont Public School. She nurtured children in her role as Guidance Counselor.
Mrs. Barry was a counselor in Polk City Elementary and Boone Middle School – both located in Florida. June retired in May of this year from Lake County School District where she had spent the past 7 years as a counselor at Round Lake Elementary.
June and Dan returned recently to N.H. where she was surrounded by her extended family. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Daniel Barry, her sister Gail Barrett of California, her brother Gerald Anderson of East Wakefield N.H., eight children- Jerry, Brian, Theresa, Rob, Cynthia, Christine, Joseph and Wendy.
June embraced all of her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and co- workers. She will always be remembered for her caring and nurturing of children as well as her tenacity during her courageous battle with cancer.
Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by a brother Robert Anderson, granddaughter Caitlin Watson, and son-in-law Mark Watson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, December 7th at St. Joseph Church, Lincoln, NH. Rev. John MacKenzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodstock Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 6-9pm Sunday, Dec 6 at the Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock, NH.
