Robert Myron Ashley

Robert Myron Ashley, 72, of Lincoln, NH, formerly of Provincetown, MA died Sunday, January 10 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, VT of Pneumonia. He was a veteran of the US Navy.

Bob was born on March 27, 1937. He spent summers in New Hampshire as a kid.
As an adult, he lived in Provincetown for many years. During his time there, he worked as a waiter at Weathering Heights, as well as at Eastwood condominiums and as head of housekeeping at the Sandcastle Resort.

In 1996, he moved to New Hampshire where he worked at the Loon Mountain Ski Resort in a variety of jobs, mostly as a cook, and at the Café Lafayette Dinner Train in North Woodstock, NH.

He also worked as an extra in the filming of Norman Mailer’s “Tough Guys Don’t Dance” and “Where Are the Children?” based on the Mary Higgins Clark novel, both of which were filmed on the Cape. In his earlier years, he worked at the 1963 World’s Fair in New York City.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 10 at Loon Mountain’s Summit Lodge in Lincoln, NH.
