
George E. Babin
George E. Babin, 82, of 24 Lincoln Green Road, Lincoln died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Somerville, MA on October 15, 1926 to George E. Babin, Sr. and Margaret Beatrice (Havican) Babin. He grew up in Somerville and was a 1944 graduate of Boston College High School. He joined the US Navy at age 17 and was a corsair fighter pilot during World War II.
George lived in Scituate, MA from 1964 to 1978 and lived in Thornton before moving to Lincoln in 2003.
A mechanical contractor he was formerly employed by Barber-Coleman of Rockford IL working in Boston, MA and Canada for many years and R.E. Bettencourt of Waltham, MA. After moving to New Hampshire he was a self employed contractor which included work at Loon Mountain, Lincoln.
He was a devoted communicant of St Joseph Church, Lincoln, a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Scituate, MA, a member of American Legion Post # 83 of Lincoln, and a former member of the Pemi River Yacht Club.
George was an avid skier. He also enjoyed sailing and traveling. In April 2003 he returned to France where he served during WW II.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Anne (Havican) Babin on September 13, 1996.
George is survived by: Son, G. Michael Babin of Reno, Nev.
Son, Peter B Babin and his wife Mary E. Babin of Littleton, Colo.
Daughter, Kim E. Stevens and her husband Buddy Stevens of East Bridgewater, MA.
Daughter, M. Stacie Babin of Boston, MA
Daughter,Kara L. Sellingham and her husband Mark A. Sellingham of Woodstock
Son, Steven P. Babin of Thornton

Friends and relatives may call from 7 to 9 PM on Friday, June 26th at the Edmund K. Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 27th in St Joseph Church, Church Street, Lincoln with Celebrant The Rev. John MacKenzie. Burial with full military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.
