Roger A. LeBlanc

Mr. Roger A. LeBlanc, 84, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, December 21st, 2008.

Mr. LeBlanc was born in Nashua, on February 12, 1924, the son of the late Louis Henry and Eva (Bibeau) LeBlanc. He graduated from Nashua Senior High School and the University of New Hampshire, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Raised in Nashua, Mr. LeBlanc also lived in Laconia, Durham, Litchfield, Lantana, FL and Newport News, VA before moving to Hudson. He was a 40-year member of the Daniel Webster Boy Scout Counsel, Troop 255 and achieved Eagle Scout with two Gold Palms. He worked as a Plant Staff Manager at New England Tel and Tel, retiring in 1979. He also held a master electrician and a commercial 1st class Radiotelephone FCC license. A WWII Navy veteran, Mr. LeBlanc served as a radioman in the Pacific, Europe, Africa and Middle East. He also graduated from the USAF Air University Nine Communication courses and was Communication Superintendent for the NH Air National Guard.

Mr. LeBlanc served as Alderman at Large for the City of Nashua for 12 years. He was an original member of the Nashua Airport Authority and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 122. A member of the American Radio Relay League, he was Radio Amateur Operator W1NMB. Mr. LeBlanc was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of NH and VT, a past member of the Elks Lodge # 720, VFW Post 8214 of Manchester, and the Laconia Kiwanis Club. He served as President and Trustee of the Laconia Mike and Key Club, as well as, being a member of several other Nashua Social Clubs.

Family members include: his wife of 62 years, Louise (Fournier) LeBlanc, a daughter and son-in law, Dorene and Peter Krauss of Hudson, a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Janet LeBlanc of Hayes, VA, a daughter, Donna Nicol of Merrimack, six grandchildren, Alissa, and Kendra Krauss, Jason and his wife, Liza LeBlanc, Jenna LeBlanc, Daniel and David Dearborn, two great grandchildren, Andrew and Logan LeBlanc, two sisters, Loretta Bouley of Winnisquam, and Pauline Roberge of Nashua, a brother, Louis H. LeBlanc of Sutton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. LeBlanc was predeceased by two brothers Leo and Gerry LeBlanc.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 29, 2008 from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Anctil - Rochette Funeral Home at 21 Kinsley St., Nashua.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11: 00 A.M. at St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, with Father Leo LeBlanc and Father Gary Belliveau as celebrants.

Burial will follow in St Louis Cemetery, Nashua.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial donation to Gateways Community Services Adult Day Service Program, 144 Canal Street, Nashua, NH 03064.
