
Joseph A. Corbeil
North Woodstock – Joseph A. “Sonny” Corbeil, 79, of 24 School Street died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Littleton Regional Hospital, Littleton.
Sonny was born September 27, 1929 in Lincoln to Henry and Rosanne (Cassidy) Corbeil.
Sonny was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree of the Littleton Assembly and a Communicant of St. Joseph Church, Lincoln. He owned and operated Sonny’s Auto Parts and was a volunteer fire fighter in North Woodstock.
In his younger years, Sonny was an avid hunter, enjoyed snowmobiling with his family, and automobile racing. After retirement Sonny traveled with his wife, Helen through most of the United States, some of Mexico, and Canada. They spent many winters square dancing, jewelry making and quilting with friends in Surprise, Arizona. Both remembered these as some of the best times of their life together. In recent years, Sonny enjoyed listening to music and watching ballgames with his son, Tom. Especially Red Sox vs. Yankees.
Sonny was predeceased by his daughter, Deirdra Ann (Corbeil) LaMotte; his son, Michael Alan Corbeil; and his sister Verna Matthews.
Sonny is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Helen (Adams) Corbeil of North Woodstock: daughter, Bonnie (Cox) Emerson and husband Ronald of Lincoln; son Thomas Corbeil of North Woodstock; brother Walter Corbiel and wife Ruth of Bristol; Grandchildren; Cindy Bradley of Thornton, Tami Becker of Lincoln, Joe Emerson of North Woodstock, Aimee (LaMotte) Kolomick and husband Tom of Bridgewater, Chad LaMotte of Lincoln; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, July 6th at the Edmund Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 7th. . in St Joseph Church, Lincoln with the Rev. John MacKenzie, Pastor as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock.
