Davis R. Clark

Davis R. Clark, 93 of Woodstock died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Lafayette Center-Genesis Eldercare, Franconia after a long illness.

He was born in North Woodstock on May 6, 1916 the son of Davis O and Callie (Smith) Clark. He grew up and attended schools in North Woodstock.

Mr. Clark enlisted in the US Army on May 27, 1942 and served until October 31, 1945. He served on the European/African front and earned an EAMET campaign medal with 3 bronze service stars.

He worked various jobs during his lifetime including: Wilbur Gordon Oil, North Woodstock, Franconia Paper Corporation, Lincoln and the Beebe River-Rockwell International, Campton. He was a member of Parker Lodge #97 F&AM and the Shriners.

Davis was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Virginia ( Baston) Clark, his brother and three sisters. He leaves his wife Christine “Tina” (Small) Avery of Woodstock. Several step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to a graveside funeral service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in the Woodstock Cemetery, Route 3, Woodstock with the Rev. Dean Roth officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parker Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM, North Woodstock or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
