Ryan Ledger Posted 11/16/09 November 16, 2009 Gram, I love you so much and miss you greatly. You were an incredible Grandmother that was selfless, full of life and very caring. I was especially lucky to live next door during my childhood and to spend time with you every day. We have shared years and years of wonderful memories, funny stories and life lessons that I can now share with my children. Here are some cherished memories of you Gram that I hold close to my heart; thirty-nine years of Love and Laughter, you always knew how to make me laugh even during the toughest of times. Endless games of Cribbage and Yahtzee, especially when you let me win. Staying home from school sick and you were always there to nurse me back to health with hot tea, toast and chicken soup. I never left the house hungry; in fact I loved everything you cooked, especially Salmon Pea Wiggle and bread pudding. I loved Summer trips to the lake and visiting family and friends. Birthdays’s and cook outs under the Maple tree in the back yard. Playing the Juke Box at your restaurant, I still remember Rhinestone Cowboy was my favorite song. Sometimes just sitting next to you, watching TV, was all I needed. Although I would have to admit that Family Feud was not a favorite show of mine. Truthfully I would have to say that my mourning for you started over a year ago when your health really started to deteriorate. You would say to me, “Ryan, it’s tough getting old.” I felt your pain Gram and wished that I could have been there as often as you were for me when I was growing up. I wish that chicken soup or a good joke could ease your suffering as it seemed to always fix me. I am so grateful that I had a chance to say good bye to you Gram just a short time before you passed. I held your hand tightly and looked into your eyes as you told me over and over again how much you loved me. But really, you didn’t have to say a word Gram. I know you love me with all your heart just as I do you. Thank you for being my Grammy. You are as alive in my heart now as you were thirty-nine years ago when I was born. Your Loving Grandson, Ryan
Jonell Landry Posted 11/16/09 You will be missed dearly. I won't soon forget the the nice times I had in Lincoln visiting with you. Your family loves you a great deal and they are so thankful to have been blessed with a mother and grandmother like you. Love, Jonell
Matt Doenges Posted 11/16/09 Gram, It was comforting to listen to your stories and advice. You kept me entertained when I was bored and took care of me when I was sick. I will miss playing against you in cribbage, racing to finish a word puzzle. Or just chatting over cookies and hot tea at the the kitchen table. It was always a treat stop in and enjoy television with you and Gramp with popcorn and ice cream. I will cherish the memories of going to your house and eating your warm Sunday meals or cookouts in the back yard followed by a game of Cribbage or rummy royal for pennies. I hope you are in a peaceful and comforting place now. You were the best Gram and my best friend. I will never forget the moments we spent together. I love you, Your Grandson, ~Matt
P. J. OUELLETTE Posted 11/16/09 Ryan I read your message - it was beautiful. It also reminded me that the first restaurant that I remember going to was your grandparents restaurant. I remember how good the food was and the songs I listned to on the juke box. What a treat it was to get to go there. Peggy was always a "hoot". You never knew what she was going to say, but it usually made you laugh. As you all will miss her, so shall we. You have our sympathies and we will keep and all of you in our prayers.
Sandy Dovholuk Posted 11/17/09 My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I always liked Peggy. Such a sweet lady. Wouldn't hurt a fly. And "funny" yes she was. Her and Gloria are together shooting the breeze again. Til we meet again Peggy.
